Le Bijou's story
Le Bijou was born from a childhood filled with yarn, creativity, and love.
When I was six years old, my grandmother taught me how to knit. I was fascinated that with just yarn and a pair of needles, you could create something beautiful. To me, it felt like magic.
She once told me a story I will never forget. It was about a little girl whose parents were divorced. She no longer lived with them, but her father would visit at the end of every month and give her money. Each time, he asked if it was enough, and she always said, “No, it’s finished. But what my mother gave me will never finish.” Confused, he asked what her mother had given her. She replied, “She taught me how to sew, and that is something that will never run out.”
My grandmother told me, “A skill will never let you go to bed hungry.”
That lesson stayed with me long after she passed away. Today, every piece I create carries that heritage a reminder that handmade work is more than an object. It is time, care, tradition, and love woven together.
